Why Ignore the Noise about LinkedIn and Trust Yourself

Ignore the noise about LinkedIn and trust yourself because when it comes to using LinkedIn, a big challenge faced by many people, especially beginners, is dealing with the flood of conflicting advice about what to do or what not to do to effectively use the platform.

You will have one expert telling you to post articles daily, another advocating that the only thing that will work is to focus on video, and others insist you need a fancy complicated funnel to succeed.

All the competing advice bombarding you online is enough to make anyone freeze. Just be calm and reflective about “what’s best and feels most natural to me using this platform?”

In my honest opinion, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to take and accepting that goes a long way. Like most things online – There is no magic button! (as an aside, it amazes me how many people treat their profile as a set and forget item and actually harm themselves, by not updating or modifying it when required)

Remember that what works for someone else might not work at all for you —and that’s the way it is.

As individuals, we are not clones and usually our businesses whilst obviously sharing many similarities with others also differ in key respects too.

Instead of chasing every trend, new wonder magic button tool or treating online advice as gospel, focus on what advice feels right and natural to you and your business and focus on an approach to it all that aligns with your goals and strengths and just feels comfortable to you.

Ignore the noise- information overload and just:

  • Experiment :
Never be afraid to experiment ! Try using different types of content (posts, videos, carousels) and see what resonates best with and gets the best reaction from your audience.
When something works, repeat it. Remember that to see what works best you need to measure carefully, so remember to learn well how to use LinkedIn analytics. I know this sounds boring, but it is indeed critical.
  • Trust Your Intuition:
You know your business-you operate it and you run it.
You know your audience and your customer better than anyone else.

So, trust yourself to make the right decisions when it comes to setting up your account or indeed updating it. Tailor your content promotion on LinkedIn in the way that feels right to you.
